Swallow / Ouch!

How Swallow supported Ouch! to launch accessible digital takaful in Malaysia

At Ouch!, the vision is simple yet powerful: offer digital takaful solutions that are affordable, transparent and easy to use. Founded in 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Ouch! aims to democratise Shariah‑compliant insurance by removing agents, jargon and unnecessary add‑ons  .

Their flagship product, Pusara Pro life takaful, offers up to RM 500,000 coverage plus a 10 % compassionate benefit paid within 24 hours of a death claim—all through a fully digital app experience  .

But launching a smooth, compliant digital takaful product requires more than just a mobile app. It needs a robust pricing and deployment platform.

That’s where Swallow joined forces with Ouch!

Why Ouch! chose Swallow

To bring Pusara Pro to market efficiently and compliantly, Ouch! needed a platform that could:

  • Handle digital-first pricing models with full version control
  • Support audit‑ready governance aligned to regulatory expectations
  • Enable rapid updating of pricing logic as products evolved

Swallow provided a centralized workspace where Ouch!’s actuarial and engineering teams could collaborate securely and deploy models confidently.

What we’ve achieved together

Our partnership with Ouch! has enabled:

  • Fully digital pricing workflows
  • Pricing rules, scripts and documentation all live in one secure and structured platform
  • Rapid product iteration with governance
  • Ouch!’s team can test and deploy model updates quickly while maintaining version history and audit trails
  • Streamlined product launches under Sandbox
  • With support from Bank Negara Malaysia’s Regulatory Sandbox, Ouch! launched its digital takaful product faster, backed by strong infrastructure

A shared mission for accessible protection

Ouch! and Swallow share a belief that financial protection should be simple, inclusive and digital-first. We are proud to power Ouch!’s journey to become Malaysia’s first true digital takaful provider—and look forward to helping them expand coverage for families across the region.
